WHAT IS THE MINUS WORLD?
A synthesis of pop, art rock and retro games, dancing between gritty punk cinema and cosmic fairy tales. Never content to stay in the corner, MINUS WORLD leaps off the stage (often literally) delivering evocative visions of a world you've only dreamed of.Minus World began in 2009 as a solo project for Jupiter V, intending to write intricate music occupying both a world of dramatic, raw emotions and the simulated realm of games and computers. In order to ground the music organically, Kat Williams joined on the drum kit for their Music Nova Scotia Award Nominated self-titled EP (2011) and the single Summer Wars (2012). The group embarked on multiple tours through the early '10s, playing across the maritimes and and as far as Montreal and Toronto.After a lengthy hiatus, stretched longer still by COVID, Jupiter and Kat returned in 2024 with the release of the single, Endless Wave, adding guitarist Seth Voliere (Postfun, Andru Branch & Halfway Tree) to the lineup. Their first full-length LP,LAST DANCE, was released in October of 2025.
